WELCOME!

I have very fond memories of being in the kitchen with my grandmother, watching, learning and tasting her wonderful cooking. Her style of cooking was a pinch of this and a handful of that. It was in her kitchen that I realized that I loved cooking and baking. Since then, I’ve been taking some of her old recipes and trying them for myself. I have been cooking and baking for many years and I’m slightly obsessed with “playing with food” and taking pictures of the food that I make.

I like to play with food!

I started TheKitchensinkBlog as I felt a need to share my love of creating new recipes and dishes with others. My inner ‘chef’ is assisting with this mélange of all things gastronomic.

I have been a pescatarian for many years but lean towards eating mostly vegetarian. I’ve had to change my way of cooking recently as my husband (who is the best sous chef and fan) has changed to eating whole food plant based. We grow a variety of produce in our vegetable garden during the summer and support the local farms, farm stands and small businesses in our area throughout the year.

Delicious food doesn’t have to be complicated.

My grown children, their friends and my friends often call, text or email with recipe requests, cooking advice and food related questions. My family’s patience through this ongoing creative journey has been unwavering. I thank them all for their encouragement, interest and love ... and they get to eat the food.

This process of improving my culinary and photography skills is so much fun. I hope that you enjoy what you find on The KitchenSink Blog.
