Chocolate Banana Bread
How many banana bread recipes have you tried? I can’t even keep count as to how many I’ve tried.
This incredibly tender and moist banana bread is from @dianemorrisey. It’s loaded with chocolate chips that make the crumb so gooey and chocolatey, because what is a banana bread without a load of chocolate chips?
I have to say that this one is up there with some of the best banana bread I’ve ever made. I recommend you give this one a try.
Chocolate Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- 3 bananas, (1 ½ cups) mashed
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp pure vanilla
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
- Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, mix the vegetable oil, brown sugar and egg. Mix until smooth.
- Add the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
- Add the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out mostly clean. Oven temperatures vary, so start checking at 50 minutes. Recipe from Diane Morrisey.
