Watermelon Agua Fresca
We’ve had a few hot days, but for the most part it’s been moderate temperatures, cool breezes and sunny skies. Watermelon agua fresca is one of my favourite drinks to enjoy when the weather is warm. Just a few simple ingredients bring a load of deliciousness.
This watermelon agua fresca is made with fresh watermelon, sugar (this is optional – I find watermelon to be sweet enough) and lime juice, all blended together into a cool and refreshing drink. Add a splash of vodka for the adult version.
- You can make this drink with other fresh fruit – strawberries, mango or pineapple.
- Choose a ripe watermelon for the best flavour. If your watermelon isn’t as sweet as you’d like, you can add more sugar, until you reach the desired sweetness level.
- If you prefer a tart drink, you can add more lime juice.
Tip: freeze some cubed watermelon and use that instead of ice cubes.
