Cheddar Chive Beer Bread
This easy to make beer bread has just a few ingredients and no yeast is required. Add shredded cheese and chives to make it so cheesy and even more flavourful. And it bakes up with a golden crunchy top.

Follow a Few Basic Steps to Make Beer Bread
- Make the batter – stir together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl
- Stir in the cheese and chives
- Add the beer and honey and stir until combined
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan
- Drizzle melted butter over the top of the batter
- Bake until golden
- Serve warm and enjoy

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup honey and sugar
- 12 oz beer
- ¼ cup butter, melted
To Make This a Cheddar Chive Loaf
- ¾ – 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp chives, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Lightly grease a 9 x 5” loaf pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray and line with parchment for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add cheese and chives if using and toss to combine.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the beer and honey and stir until just combined. Don’t overmix.
- Spoon batter into the prepared loaf pan and gently smooth the top.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Bake for approximately 45-50 minutes or until the top is a deep, golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before turning out of the pan.
- Allow it to cool for an additional 10 minutes on a wire cooling rack before slicing.
