Flaky Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen puff pastry thawed in the refrigerator overnight
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Place butter in a small pan and melt.
  • Stir together the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  • Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured work surface. Depending on the size of the dough, you may need to cut it into a few rectangles and roll out to approximately 9 x 5”.
  • Roll the pastry out a bit and brush the surface with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the butter.
  • Roll the pastry tightly along the long side.
  • Cut the pastry in half along the length of the dough.
  • Roll each piece into a spiral, tucking the edge under the roll.
  • Brush a muffin pan with some butter and place the spiral in the pan. Do the same with the other piece. Repeat the process again.
  • Brush the tops with a little butter.
  • Bake the spiral rolls for 22-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and run a knife around the edges to loosen. Allow to cool for a few minutes and gently remove each roll from the pan, brush with melted butter and sprinkle tops with the leftover cinnamon sugar mixture.
