Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In large bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
Add flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop heaping tablespoons full onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown, rotating pans halfway through.
Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
