In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, oil and vanilla until combined.
Add wet ingredients to dry mixture, stirring just until moistened (the batter will be thick). Fold in the cut pears.
Transfer mixture to prepared pan.
Bake in pre-heated oven, until a toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean, about 50-55 minutes.
Cool in pan for 10-15 minutes before removing to a wire a rack to cool.
